Project Description

This project consisted of the demolition of a fire damaged building and reconstruction of The Graduate Pub. The reconstructed premises provides 1540m2 of bar, lounge and restaurant space along with ancillary kitchen facilities, staff facilities, offices and storage within 3 floors, over an existing basement which was retained. The premises are constructed with a structural steel frame, precast concrete floors, stairs and masonry envelop. The building is provided with solar panels on the roof and rainwater is collected for reuse due to the installation of a rainwater harvesting system.

Garland provided project management services for the enabling works required to make the fire damaged building safe. Garland carried out detailed structural inspections, carried out reconstruction schemes, provided full civil and structural engineering services including planning, tender, contract documentation and construction supervision. As part of the planning process we carried out a traffic impact assessment. Garland also carried out the role of project supervisor for the design process (PSDP) and liaised with the loss assessors and insurance company to seek a quick resolution to the insurance claim.
